Rehabilitational Services
Physical therapy services at Cushing Regional Hospital are provided by physical therapists licensed by the state of Oklahoma. With a referral from your primary care physicians, a therapist can evaluate your problem and formulate a treatment plan to achieve your goals and objectives. Physical therapy may be ordered to treat and prevent disability, relieve pain, or increase your ability to function in daily activities and achieve maximum independence.
Occupational therapists work with individuals who have the following diagnoses; arthritis, work injuries, hand injuries, stroke, pediatric diagnoses, spinal cord injuries, broken bones, burns, multiple sclerosis, heart attack and others. OT's use functional activities, adaptive equipment, exercise and technique adaptation to assist individuals in leading independent, productive and satisfying lives.
Speech-Language Pathologists provide therapy that includes evaluation of patients in the hospital, in outpatient therapy, and/or in Home Health. Pediatric services are available in the areas of prefeeding and feeding development, assessment and treatment of phonological development, articulation disorders, language comprehension and expression, voice and fluency. Services provided for adults include assessment and treatment of disorders related to traumatic brain injury, stroke, or progressive neurological diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's or dementia. In addition, CRH has a service to assist Speech Therapy in diagnosing and managing swallowing difficulties. Modified Barium Swallow Studies are used to identify breakdown in the swallowing mechanism allowing the Speech Pathologist to devise an appropriate plan of care towards compensatory strategies and rehabilitation.
